The new Corvette C8 Stingray 2020 collects an excellent 7:28.30 at the legendary Nurburgring circuit, also beating the most recent Porsche 911 992 Carrera S. We await the times of future versions such as the Z06 and the legendary ZR1.
Ever since the presentation of the new Chevrolet Corvette C8, many of the fans have wondered if it would have lived up to European sports, especially from the point of view of driveability. There is a legend, which in reality a little truth hides, that American cars would be good only for grinding speeds on the straight. To dispel this myth, Chevrolet has in fact redesigned the whole car, even moving the engine, abandoning that typically American configuration, which sees the engine positioned frontally and the traction all behind. In fact, the new Chevrolet Corvette C8 has a body capable of housing the engine in a central position, becoming in all respects a supercar, and no longer a sports car.
The new Corvette 2020 has a 6.2-liter input engine, 8 V-cylinders and a power of 490 HP, with the abbreviation LT2 derived from the previous LT1, delivered at 6,400 rpm and 637 Nm at 5,150 rpm but, if choose the Z51 Performance package, the power rises to 495 HP thanks to the adoption of a sportier exhaust and other technical details. The performances are excellent, with a click on the 0-100 km / h covered in less than 3 seconds, thanks to an automatic transmission signed ZF with eight ratios, more sophisticated than the previous one, which allows it to close the quarter of a mile in just 11.3 seconds. But how is he doing on a real track?
Chevrolet did not personally bring the car to a test track, but directly from America, from Muscle car & Trucks some news arrives about a time of 7: 28.30 on the famous Nurburgring circuit, with Z51 Performance package, improved by almost 6 seconds compared to the previous Corvette C7, according to times from some private individuals who shot in optimal conditions in "Green Hell".
However, it remains slower than the previous one in the ZR1 version, the more extreme, which posted an excellent 7:04 thanks also to its 755 hp and impressive aerodynamic work. The conditions seem good, pending future versions more focused on performance, such as the Z06 and the very powerful ZR1.
Genovation presented at the Ces of Las Vegas the production version of the GXE , an electrical evolution of the iconic Corvette . Being a real conversion, the eight-cylinder of the American sport was eliminated and replaced with an electric motor of 800 hp and 948 Nm connected to the serial transmission: the GXE is in fact available both with a manual gearbox with seven speeds , both with an a utomatic transmission . Unique details Compared to Corvettes with traditional power, the sporty zero emissions is characterized by a new front design with small size air intakes and aerodynamic details that are extremely different from the traditional 'Vette. In addition to the front splitter, the new bumper and the modified bonnet, the GXE features a large carbon fiber extractor mounted at the rear and combined with a modified wing and new LED light clusters integrated into the tail which is almost completely redesigned compared to the standard model. The finish of th
If you are real purists and can't conceive of a vintage car that is not 100% original, you better change page. If you are passionate about American cars , and maybe you'd get a Chevrolet Corvette C2 Stingray especially, this is the place. Particularly it means that from the outside it is a historical in every respect, but it brings with it all the comforts given by modern technologies. To create this car is the company Ares Design , based in Italy, specifically in Modena . The most important change is the engine: in fact, under the hood of this car there is an LS3 engine , much more powerful than the original. In fact, it is the one mounted on the Corvette C6 , produced between 2005 and 2013. It is a 6.2 liter V8 , which is able to deliver a power of 518 horses. Obviously, mounting this engine required other work, including installing a different tank, new wheels, muffler and a five-speed manual transmission. But it's not just under the hood that the Ares t
Almost a year has passed since the official presentation of the latest generation Chevrolet Corvette , the C8 . Now, however, it seems that its extreme variant, the Z06 , is already in the process of running in the test phase to land on the market as soon as possible. As you can see from the spy images taken by the guys from Motor1 , two specimens of Z06 have been caught and each of them shows its large exhausts in a central position. The first model of Corvette Z06 is the one with a rigid roof, while the second is in a convertible version. It is not easy to understand it, given the really heavy camouflage, but by observing the roof lines of the second prototype well, you can see the solutions to the continuity of the lines. The most important change however concerns the exhaust system, which immediately catches the eye. The rumors about the next generation Z06 were going to reject the setup with outlets at the corners, and apparently proved to be true, even if the test vehicles hav
