Chevrolet Corvette C8: Hennessey pushes it to 1,200 hp!

If there is a car that you immediately think of when it comes to Hennessey, that's the Chevrolet Corvette. The relationship between the American company and the Texan tuner will certainly not stop with the market launch of the new Corvette, with Hennessey announcing that it will offer upgraded versions up to 1,200 hp of the new mid-engine C8.

"We expect the new Corvette C8 to be an excellent starting point to fully customize according to the taste of our customers, including power and performance," said company founder John Hennessey. "In the last few months we have received hundreds of requests from C8 owners who want to know what we will offer in the future for the new Corvette; we have therefore created an online questionnaire that has already registered 250 completed forms. And every day more and more are arriving but all of them , more or less, they ask the same thing: more power ".

Power up to 1,200 hp

Hennessey will initially offer a new exhaust system that will bring a slight increase in power. The exact number of horses is not declared, but we know that with a new kit with compressor the power of the C8 will reach 700 bhp. The final upgrade includes a pair of turbochargers to support the V8 LS2 which should reach 1,200 hp. An optimized dual-clutch gearbox will handle all the power discharged through the rear wheels only. Regardless of power, Hennessey will also offer an aesthetic carbon kit, better performing Brembo brakes, adjustable suspension and special rims and tires.

Rumors say that the Corvette C8's electronics have been designed not to be tampered with and therefore not remapped. The same was said for the C7 ZR1, with Hennessey who, however, managed to increase the power electronically. It is not known if Hennessey has already studied the Corvette C8, but we suspect that the tuner is anxious to offer alternatives with greater power simultaneously with the arrival on the market of the mid-engined sports car.
