Chevrolet Corvette C8 : the new generation of american supercars will not be presented at the Detroit Motor Show and will hardly debut at the Geneva Motor Show or the New York Motor Show There is no doubt that the Chevrolet Corvette C8 is one of the most anticipated upcoming supercars over the next few months. The American manufacturer has been testing the new generation for some time, which apparently will be a big step forward compared to the current model, especially as regards the new technical layout that will provide a very important change. As repeatedly anticipated on these pages, the new Corvette C8 will represent a real appointment with the story as for the first time will enjoy the engine mounted centrally in place of the classic positioned at the front. In fact, back in 1964, Chevrolet created a Corvette prototype characterized by the presence of a propeller mounted behind the passenger compartment: in detail Zora Arkus-Duntov , as well as being the first

Chevrolet Corvette C8 : the new generation, passing from the classic configuration with front engine and rear-wheel drive to the new mechanical scheme with central engine and rear-wheel drive, will enjoy new shapes and unprecedented proportions. The curiosity around the new Chevrolet Corvette C8 increases more and more: after the numerous spy photos and footage of the forklifts used in the tests, the debut in the world of high performance cars of the new generation of the stars and stripes supercar is getting closer. However, the American brand has not yet officially pronounced in this regard, not communicating the date of presentation of the new model. It has been said several times that the new Corvette , seen traditionally the symbol of American sportiness par excellence, would have been unveiled in one of the classic American car saloons: this being the case, at best the new C8 could be officially presented at the upcoming Detroit Motor Show 2019 (13-28 January) or perha

Genovation GXE: the electric Corvette at the LA Auto Show

The  Genovation GXE , an American electric road supercar based on the  Chevrolet Corvette , will debut at the  Los Angeles Auto Show  ( November 30 - December 9 ). A first appearance took place last January at the  CES in Las Vegas , but the real presentation before the launch on the market (scheduled for 2019) is at the Los Angeles event. Meanwhile, the  Genovation GXE  has already been noted thanks to some very special features that distinguish it. First of all, the choice of  Genovation Car Inc , an American company that deals with customization, to use the frame and body of an icon like the  Corvette , has produced an intriguing means to the eye, with those sporty and aggressive lines so dear to fans of Chevrolet.  Then there is the fact that the Genovation GXE holds the official record (certified in the Guinness Book of Records) of the fastest road car on the "standing mile" (test of acceleration from a stop on a straight of a mile) with as

Hennessey Corvette ZR1: over 1000 hp of pure power

Immagine
While the world is waiting anxiously to know if the future Corvette C8 will really deliver 1,000 horsepower from its centrally placed engine, Hennessey has decided instead to carelessly improve the C7 , the latest version of the 'Vette with V8 engine front and rear wheel drive, pulling out as many horses as ever will have the C8. As we already know the ZR1 is impressive: 755 horses, almost a thousand Nm of torque, 0-100 in 2.8 seconds and so much downforce to make it effective even in the corners. Yet the American company found it weak, so he gave her an injection of power and malice. 800 horses? 900? 1,000? Nein, John Hennessey took the 6.2-liter V8 with volumetric compressor and brought it to 1,218 horsepower and 1,455 Nm of torque, all sent to the rear wheels. It seems only synonymous with big problems, yet the traction seems to be still a known concept since the performances speak of a 0-100 in 2.2 seconds, the quarter mile covered in 9.2 and a top speed of

The new Chevrolet Corvette C8 could be unveiled soon: in the meantime the road tests of the future American sports car will be intensified. For the first time in the history a Corvette will be distinguished by the presence of the propeller mounted in a central position instead of anterior. The new Chevrolet Corvette C8 should be unveiled by the end of 2018 or at most within the first few months of 2019. The next generation of the American sport par excellence is still engaged in the long and challenging phase of testing that is seeing it as a protagonist already by some months. In fact, the American brand is investing a lot of energy to test and develop in the best way the future C8, a supercar that surely will mark a great turning point in its history thanks to an innovative technical layout compared to tradition. The first central-engine Corvette ... or almost! In fact, the new C8 will be the first Corvette to enjoy the technical scheme that provides for the ad

The aim is to promote the launch of the special edition in China, with the operation supported by the joint venture between SAIC Motor and General Motors (SAIC-GM).  This is a maneuver that coincides with the twentieth anniversary of the commitment in the races of Corvette Racing, as well as the first time of an official Corvette in Asia, but not in the World Endurance. In fact, except for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the last appearance

Corvette ZR1 at 345 km / h during a test in Germany

It is a test circuit, four hours north of the Nurburgring , on which the car manufacturers test the maximum speeds. The track is a circular ring and to measure the official maximum speed it must be traveled in both directions. In favor of wind and with contrary wind. The maximum speed is calculated from their average. The ZR1 arrived at 214.88 mph in one of the tests, or 345.8 km / h. On the other occasion it was "stopped" at 210.20 miles, or 338.2 km / h. The ZR1, as mentioned, is the most powerful Corvette ever. The mighty 6.2-liter V8 produces 755 horsepower, unparalleled. The performan
