WEC: the Corvette C7.R will run in Shanghai with Redline livery

Following the announcement last June, Chevrolet showed the first images of the Corvette C7.R # 64 in the Redline livery with which Corvette Racing will take part in the 6 Hours of Shanghai, fifth round of the 2018-2019 season of the World Endurance (FIA) WEC) scheduled for Sunday 18 November at the Shanghai International Circuit.

The single specimen inscribed in the GTE Pro class and led by Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner presents a body with silver tint and black and red inserts, the same graphic details provided on the Redline. The aim is to promote the launch of the special edition in China, with the operation supported by the joint venture between SAIC Motor and General Motors (SAIC-GM).

This is a maneuver that coincides with the twentieth anniversary of the commitment in the races of Corvette Racing, as well as the first time of an official Corvette in Asia, but not in the World Endurance. In fact, except for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the last appearance of the GT Pratt & Miller brand dates back to 2014 in Austin during the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas. The Redline range was launched last year at the Guangzhou Motor Show and a Corvette C7.R show car will be on the poster of this year's event which coincides with the WEC's 6 Hours of Shanghai.

Gavin said:

"I piloted 3 generations of Corvettes, the C5-R, the C6.R and the C7.R. All three cars were dressed in yellow. Now to see it in the Redline livery is really fantastic. new and beautiful, of course, it is unusual to see it for the first time in a different color from yellow ".
