Immagine
The  Genovation GXE , an American electric road supercar based on the  Chevrolet Corvette , will debut at the  Los Angeles Auto Show  ( November 30 - December 9 ). A first appearance took place last January at the  CES in Las Vegas , but the real presentation before the launch on the market (scheduled for 2019) is at the Los Angeles event. Meanwhile, the  Genovation GXE  has already been noted thanks to some very special features that distinguish it. First of all, the choice of  Genovation Car Inc , an American company that deals with customization, to use the frame and body of an icon like the  Corvette , has produced an intriguing means to the eye, with those sporty and aggressive lines so dear to fans of Chevrolet.  Then there is the fact that the Genovation GXE holds the official record (certified in the Guinness Book of Records) of the fastest road car on the "standing mile" (test of acceleration from ...

Hennessey Corvette ZR1: over 1000 hp of pure power

Immagine
While the world is waiting anxiously to know if the future Corvette C8 will really deliver 1,000 horsepower from its centrally placed engine, Hennessey has decided instead to carelessly improve the C7 , the latest version of the 'Vette with V8 engine front and rear wheel drive, pulling out as many horses as ever will have the C8. As we already know the ZR1 is impressive: 755 horses, almost a thousand Nm of torque, 0-100 in 2.8 seconds and so much downforce to make it effective even in the corners. Yet the American company found it weak, so he gave her an injection of power and malice. 800 horses? 900? 1,000? Nein, John Hennessey took the 6.2-liter V8 with volumetric compressor and brought it to 1,218 horsepower and 1,455 Nm of torque, all sent to the rear wheels. It seems only synonymous with big problems, yet the traction seems to be still a known concept since the performances speak of a 0-100 in 2.2 seconds, the quarter mile covered in 9.2 and a top speed of ...

In fact, except for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the last appear...

Corvette ZR1 at 345 km / h during a test in Germany

Immagine
Presented as the most powerful Corvette ever, the ZR1 keeps its label. The American supercar has tested itself on the Automotive Testing Papenburg , in Germany. It is a test circuit, four hours north of the Nurburgring , on which the car manufacturers test the maximum speeds. The track is a circular ring and to measure the official maximum speed it must be traveled in both directions. In favor of wind and with contrary wind. The maximum speed is calculated from their average. The ZR1 arrived at 214.88 mph in one of the tests, or 345.8 km / h. On the other occasion it was "stopped" at 210.20 miles, or 338.2 km / h. Its 755 HP are unleashed from the mighty 6.2-liter V8 , supported by an Eaton volumetric compressor. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes less than three seconds and the maximum speed declared before these tests was 337 km / h.  On the German circuit, the ZR1 was in standard trim, with the normal rear wing and not that of the ZTK perf...

2019 Corvette ZR1 Spotted At The Nurburgring

Immagine
The ZR1 , the most powerful Corvette ever, takes measurements on the Nurburgring circuit. The American supercar was filmed during some test tests on the German track. As you can see, the model in question looks like a prototype but it is very close to the production version. At the Nurburgring the ZR1 watches since its presentation at the Detroit Motor Show in January. The American car wants to become the third car to fall under the 7-minute track limit . The track record is held by the Porsche 911 GT2 RS in 6’47″3. A record won by the Lamborghini Huracan Performante who had stopped the clock in 6’52″01. In the viewfinder there is however the Dodge Viper ACR . Beating its time of 7'01''3 would mean to be the fastest American car and most likely to fall under the 7-minute limit. The potential is there all. The ZR1, as mentioned, is the most powerful Corvette ever. The mighty 6.2-liter V8 produces 755 horsepower, unpar...
